Lord Sarfraz visited HMS Excellent, home of Navy Command Headquarters (NCHQ), in Whale Island, Portsmouth. He met with the Second Sea Lord, Vice Admiral Martin Connell CBE, and other senior officers. He also visited the Joint Maritime Security Centre (JMSC) in Portsdown, comprising of the National Maritime Information Centre (NMIC) and the Joint Maritime Operations Coordination Centre. The JMSC offers government departments and agencies a central point of UK maritime expertise and understanding to assist policy and decision making.
